The turn-based MMORPGs you can play in 2026

The turn-based online worlds you can enter now, and the new ones still on their way.

Turn-based MMORPGs make you choose. They also give those choices a home: a city to return to, a people to meet and a story worth following beyond the fight.

That rhythm is rare in an online world. These are the games carrying it in September 2026, plus the new worlds that are still being built.

We make Kosal. Its entry is clear about what exists today and what does not.

Dofus

The World of Twelve is built around legendary dragon eggs, the Dofus. Astrub welcomes new adventurers; Amakna, Bonta, Brakmar and distant islands give them somewhere to grow into their own stories.

Nineteen classes make that journey feel personal. A headlong Iop, a time-bending Xelor and a treasure-hunting Enutrof do not simply fight differently; each carries a distinct place in the world's humour and mythology.

Quest lines, professions, dungeons, guilds and a player economy keep the world moving after the first hunt for a Dofus. It remains the broadest place here to make a character part of a long-running world.

Dofus Retro

The separate 1.29-era version preserves an earlier World of Twelve: its hand-drawn look, twelve classic classes, familiar towns and a tougher road through Amakna, Bonta and Brakmar.

Its economy and social life grow slowly. A profession, a dungeon group or a guild reputation means more when the old world asks players to make their own routines and relationships inside it.

We wrote a separate post about what those players often look for.

Dofus Touch

On phone and tablet, the World of Twelve takes a different path. Fifteen classes travel through Astrub, Frigost, Pandala, Orado and a huge map of regions, creatures and more than seventy dungeons.

It is its own MMO, with its own characters, servers, quests, gear, seasons and economy. That separate direction gives Touch room to tell its own stories and add its own destinations instead of following the PC game step for step.

Wakfu

Wakfu takes place generations later, after the old world has been broken and remade. Its nations have borders, governors and laws, so choosing where to live gives a character a civic identity as well as a home.

The land itself is part of the fiction. Forests, fields and creatures respond to what players harvest, plant and hunt, which makes a nation feel like a place its inhabitants are responsible for.

Its class identities, guild life, jobs and dungeons sit inside that shared project. Wakfu suits players who want their party adventure tied to a population that can shape the country around it.

Waven

Waven sails through a flooded World of Twelve. Islands replace the old continents, and every voyage feels like an expedition toward a new shore, its people and the relics left behind.

Heroes, companions, equipment and spells create a compact identity for each adventurer. The island structure makes room for co-operative journeys and rivalries without asking players to live inside one enormous world map.

Atlantica Online

Atlantica Online sends a traveller through a fantasy version of Earth where legends, empires and ruins from different cultures become the route from one continent to the next.

A player builds a company of mercenaries around that journey. Their stories, roles and loyalties turn a main character's quest into the travel diary of a small army.

Wizard101

Wizard101 begins at Ravenwood School and reaches across the Spiral, a chain of very different worlds joined by magic, old rivalries and the people who need a young wizard's help.

Seven schools of magic give a wizard an immediate identity, while pets, housing, crafting and a long quest campaign make every world feel like another chapter in a school-age adventure.

Pirate101

A captain sets out across the Spiral's skyways in search of El Dorado. Skull Island, Cool Ranch and MooShu give the journey a set of distinct cultures, villains and far-flung ports.

The crew is the heart of it. Companions return from one chapter to the next with their own voices and roles, while ships, gear and treasure make a captain's growing legend visible.

Broken Ranks

A country still marked by invasion gives Broken Ranks its darker character. Travellers meet people living with the aftermath, and its quests ask for choices that can make a journey feel like a personal account of that recovery.

Solo travel, parties and guilds move through the same uneasy land. Its 2026 updates continue to add reasons to revisit that world, from balance and economy work to endgame and party-finder changes.

Hana

Studio 3NA is building a 3D tactical MMORPG around sacred trees, corrupted creatures and a world that has lost part of itself. Dungeons, equipment and talents are meant to support that journey through a recovering fantasy land.

The project is still in development. The studio is targeting a paid alpha in early 2027, so the best way to judge it today is through its playtests and development updates.

Kosal

Kosal is a world we are still making. We want a party's story to come from the places it explores, the people it meets and the things it makes, then carry that history into the next journey.

Gathering, crafting, player trade and parties will join that world together. You will be able to run a party of heroes yourself or travel with other players, bringing the equipment and resources you earn back into the same shared places.
